Sunday, Pat is making progress

I arrived at her room this morning to find her brighter and watching TV. This is a marked improvement from previous days. She ate heartily and we were able to communicate to some degree, she even filled out her menu for tomorrow’s meals.

Lab results are back on the infection, staphylococcus aureus and a Gram-negative rod. She has been treated with vancomycin via IV which will continue for weeks after she returns home. Unfortunately this will also delay her other treatments for a few weeks.

  1. Soooooooooooo glad Pat is improving. Sorry this will delay next step.
Jackson had pic line with IVs for a while and he called the med container his “bomb”! Did look like one so of course, we got him a camouflage pouch to carry it in. Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe pink for Pat? Hang in there!

    • Thanks Kay, I am totally ignorant of what is involved, and I may be in charge of the process initially while Pat recuperates, and probably supervising afterwards. Having never worked in the clinical world, a lot of this is new to me.

So.. I may be calling on you

      • feel free to call on me any time!!! That said, I am totally confident you will become a pro in no time!! eh? Your wonderful sense of humor is still intact, I see.
Hmmmmmmmmmm-could you and Pat walk a few laps for me? I can handle the cool down part myself! 🙂

  2. So happy to hear that Pat’s feeling better! Not happy to hear treatment has been delayed. Hugs to you both.

We all just went for a short walk while it’s still “cool” out, although the humidity is 1,000%. Cool down, then brekkie, then beauty rest – whatta life, eh?! All is well here. 🙂

  3. Glad Pat is doing better but sorry her treatment will be delayed. And thank you for the updates Scott. Hugs to you both.

  4. Sorry to here of Pat’s setback, but glad to hear she’s improving. I think of her often, give her our best and a hug.
