Looks like there may be a delay

I’m still in Durham.

On Mondays, I usually wait for Pat to come back from radiation before getting on the road back to Norfolk. Today when she returned she vomited. After that , her temp was taken which was 101.7. Duke was called and she was take by ambulance to the ER. She will be admitted back into the hospital for at least a few days. During that time her radiation and chemo will be put on hold.

Thanks for support,

Scott

  1. Hi Scot and Pat,
I was told today by Kathryn that Pat is in Durham going through treatment. I am sorry that I have not kept in touch for last six months. I was away in India during the months of july and august. I am glad that Pat is improving (except for the set back today). Hang on Scott there, she will recover. Pat is always a strong woman. She will come through this. Give her a hug for me please. If you need any help, please let me know. I left email address and my cell number is 757 574 2676. Don’t hesitate to call me if you need anything. Redy.

    • Yep it does.

Back in the ER Pat was subjected to a battery of blood draws, a lot requiring vein finding (she has been stuck a lot in the last few months) . We have her checked out of the home, and are waiting for results of all the needle pokes. She is a champ though.

We need to find the cause of the temperature rise, whether it be from a new infection, case of flu, whatever. If the cause requires anitbiotics, it will cause a further delay in treatment as the antibiotics will have no effect under radiation/chemo. They have to treat the most immediate condition, in this case that would be the infection.
